About The Role
As a Propulsion CNC Operator for Rocket Lab you will be working on the Rutherford rocket engine. The engine is a regeneratively cooled pump fed rocket engine with LOx and kerosene propellants. It is the primary propulsion system of Electron and is manufactured using state of the art production techniques.
All major components on the engine are printed and post machined or are machined from raw materials. We need your expertise to run the machining centres for the post machining of these components. The machining operations are critical to successful operation of the engines. Experience and a good eye for detail is required to meet the necessary quality requirements. If you want to make parts that fly to space this is the role for you.
Minimum Requirements for Propulsion CNC Operator
- Trade Qualified
- 4+ years CNC operating experience
- A very high attention to detail and meticulous
- Self-initiative and enthusiastic in delivering high quality work efficiently
- Excellent time management and able to work overtime and long hours if needed
- The ability to take a flexible approach and to adapt to change quickly
Desired Requirements for Propulsion CNC Operator
- Experience with metal additive manufacturing
- Experience with Inconel and titanium machining
- Experience with Solidworks
- Experience with GibbsCAM
